Terms of Use

Last updated: 6 November 2026

The short version

  • Passmio is a day counter. It is not legal, immigration or tax advice.
  • Counts are only as good as the trips in the App. Check important decisions with the official authority or an adviser.
  • Pro is sold by Apple or Google. Their refund and cancellation rules apply.
  • Your data stays on your phone, so please keep your own backups.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Passmio (“Passmio”, “we”, “us”) for the Passmio app for iPhone and Android (the App) and the website passmio.app. By downloading or using the App you accept these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies. If anything in these terms conflicts with it, these terms apply to the extent the law allows.

2. Using Passmio

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You agree not to:

  • copy, resell or redistribute the App, or remove its notices;
  • reverse engineer it, except where the law allows this;
  • use it to break the law, or to track another person without their consent.

You need to be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) to use the App.

3. Passmio Pro, trials and payments

Some features need Passmio Pro, offered as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the App before you buy and may differ by country.

  • Billing. Payments are taken by Apple or Google through your store account.
  • Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Free trial. If a trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before then. You can have one trial per store account.
  • Cancelling. Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. This does not affect your legal rights as a consumer.
  • Lifetime. A lifetime purchase gives you Pro for as long as we offer the App, on the store account you bought it with.
  • Codes. Promotional or redeem codes have no cash value and may expire.
  • Price changes. If a subscription price goes up, the store will tell you in advance and, where required, ask you to agree.

4. Day counts are guidance, not advice

Passmio helps you keep track of days spent in countries and compares them with rules such as the Schengen 90/180 rule, tax residency tests and visa limits. Please keep in mind:

  • It is not legal, immigration or tax advice. Nothing in the App replaces the official rules or a qualified adviser.
  • Results depend on your data. Trips added by hand, rebuilt from photos or recorded by location tracking can be missing or wrong, for example if a photo has no location, your phone was off or GPS was imprecise near a border. Please check your trips.
  • Rules simplify real life. Authorities may count days differently, apply exceptions (dual nationality, residence permits, transit, days at sea) or change the rules. We link to official sources where we can and update presets, but we can’t guarantee they are complete or current.
  • The final decision is yours. Border officers, tax offices and courts decide based on their own records, not the App.

For decisions with legal or financial consequences, such as visa applications, tax returns or settlement applications, check with the relevant authority or a professional.

5. Your data

Your trips, counters and settings are stored on your device, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We can’t see, restore or recover them. You are responsible for keeping backups, for example through your phone’s system backup or the App’s export feature where available.

6. Changes to the App

We work to keep Passmio useful and may add, change or remove features, rule presets and supported countries. We will not remove a core paid feature you have paid for during a paid period without telling you, and where the law requires it we will offer a fair remedy.

7. Our liability

We provide the App with reasonable care and skill. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, the App is provided “as is”, without other promises about accuracy or availability.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by relying on a day count, including fines, refused entry, visa or residency decisions, or tax assessed. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Passmio in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Ownership

The App, its design, text, graphics and code belong to Passmio or its licensors. Country borders come from Natural Earth (public domain). Flags are shown using your device’s emoji. App Store is a trademark of Apple Inc.; Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC.

Share images you create with the App are yours to use.

9. Ending these terms

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it (and cancelling any subscription in your store account). We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously break these terms. Sections 4, 7 and 8 continue to apply after the terms end.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the App before they take effect. If you keep using the App after that, the new terms apply.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country where Passmio’s operator is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
